Some tablet compression
applications need more than standard tooling. Singhania Tableting develops special-purpose punches & dies for
pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products where the process, tablet geometry or performance requirement calls
for a customised approach.
Our special-purpose tooling includes solutions for effervescent tablets, chewable tablets, layered tablets and
other specialised compression applications. Each requirement is engineered to the specified application with a
focus on reliable fit, consistent performance and tooling life.
Core-Rod Tooling
Core-Rod Tooling is used for tablets with a central hole and for tablet-in-tablet designs.
Tungsten Carbide Lined Punches & Die
Where wear resistance is a key consideration, tungsten carbide can be used in selected punch and die
applications to help reduce wear and extend tooling life.
Teflon Tip Punches
Effervescent formulations can present sticking and corrosion
challenges at the punch face. Teflon Tip Punches are designed to help minimise sticking, with a
replaceable disc that can be changed if damaged.
Multi-Tip Tooling
Multi-Tip Tooling is designed for small tablets where higher output is
required.
By incorporating more than one tip on a single punch, the tooling can increase the number of tablets produced per turret revolution.
Multi-tip applications require careful tooling selection, setup and handling, and the tooling may have a shorter service life than
conventional single-tip tooling.
It is particularly suited to high-volume production of small tablets.
Rotating Head for Shaped Punches
Shaped punches can experience greater wear at the underside of
the punch head than round tooling. A rotating head design helps distribute this wear and can contribute
to improved tooling life.
Bakelite Relief
Sticky formulations can lead to powder build-up on the die wall
and may interfere with lower punch movement. A sharp undercut on the lower punch tip acts as a scraping
feature during operation, helping to clean the die bore as the punch moves.
